Mucin 5AC glycoprotein (MUC5AC) is a 641kDa glycoprotein belonging to the superfamily of mucins. Mucins are high molecular weight glycoproteins produced by epithelial cells and can be divided into two families, secretory mucins and membrane bound mucins.
