Xanthine oxidase is present in appreciable amounts in the liver and jejunum in healthy individuals. However, in various liver disorders, XO is released into circulation. Therefore, determination of serum XO level serves as a sensitive indicator of acute liver damage such as jaundice. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunoblotting, ELISA, Immunohistochemistry, and Immunomicroscopy. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:10,000 to 1:40,000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20C. Stable for at least 12 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
