Products licensed for use as In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) medical devices are suitable for the monitoring and diagnosis of diseases or medical conditions in humans and animals. Blood, tissue, urine and saliva are common samples collected and tested. Food monitoring for detection of microbiological contaminants is routinely performed by the food industry to meet hygiene requirements.
