Tocol (Desmethyltocopherol) is a synthetic vitamin E derivative. Unlike ()-alpha-tocopherol, ()-tocol does not suppress retinol-induced erythrocyte hemolysis or increase microviscosity of rat liver phosphatidylcholine (PC) liposomes.
