Washed whole erythrocytes were prepared from fresh blood and used for intravenous immunization. Freunds complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.

Application Notes:
Precipitation assays. Hemolytic titre at which 50% lysis occurs following mixing of equal volumes of antiserum, guinea pig complement (at a dilution of 1:60) and 10 8 RBC/ml not less than 1:3,000 when tested with sheep erythrocytes.
